A woman believed to have left Hamilton Public Library with six year old Jayden Headley - missing since August 16 – was today named by the Supreme Court as Nikala Janice Taylor.
Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias and Justices Peter Blanchard, Andrew Tipping, John McGrath and Noel Anderson, quashed orders for habeas corpus and other orders made by the High Court against Ms Taylor.
The court dismissed an appeal by Jayden’s mother Kay Halton Skelton against an order for habeas corpus.
Ms Skelton was earlier jailed indefinitely for contempt of court for refusing to disclose Jayden’s whereabouts.
Ms Skelton’s imprisonment was not the subject of any appeal to the Supreme Court.
The habeas corpus orders taken out by Jayden’s father Christopher Jones were intended to produce the child from wherever he is being kept.
