A Couple Of Good Sheilas

Our Man At The Bar is staggering under the weight of mail (Aye, and that’s nae all that maks him stagger) from Case Loaders everywhere singing the praises of our latest lady judges, previously grossly slagged off here as “Bits Of Skirt On The Bench.” A very, very well placed and refined voice from the Capital went out of its way to assure Case Load that Justices Pamela Andrews and Jillian Mallon would both be well up to the tasks before them. At 60 Justice Pam is considered good for ten years, she has considerable criminal and commercial experience and is seen in the mould of Justice Jude Potter, and everyone knows what a tough, no-nonsense beak she could be. Justice Jill, at 41, is one of the smartest legal women around, according to one who knows, and is expected to make a “huge contribution to black letter law,” especially in the complex insurance field. For a young woman she has a “chew ‘em, up and spit ‘em out” reputation and is said will pounce on any smart-alecky briefs who try it on. Expect her to give quick, concise and sometimes oral judgments.
